Clout.art, the team that introduced the idea of turning social media posts into valuable collections last year, has decided to transition its services and tools from Polygon to Hedera - citing the increased speed and carbon-negative footprint of the network.
With Instagram enabling NFT support, an important milestone has been reached in bringing crypto-backed digital collectibles closer to mainstream adoption. While many users can already attach NFTs to their timelines, more value can be generated for online creators by turning their existing posts into NFTs.
Clout.art powers the creator economy by turning the most valuable content, such as a creator’s most successful social media posts, into unique NFTs. Followers then have the opportunity to buy and own these posts in their NFT form, turning them into a collector's item with living value.
“If physical merchandise has been a decisive contributor to revenue streams of online creators in a Web2 world, digital merchandise is what will pay the bills in the future,” said Jure Z, founder of Clout.art “Just like you would buy someone’s branded t-shirt, hat, or coffee mug, you will now buy digital items from your favorite creators and influencers.” Jure Z is a pioneer of the NFT space, helping build the first NFT framework on Ethereum in 2018.
This framework allowed users to deploy audited NFT smart contracts, directly mint NFTs, and set metadata with less than 10 lines of code, using higher-level programming languages like Python and JavaScript. With head advisor William Entriken, the lead author of the ERC-721 standard, their team helped push the EIP-721 implementation proposal to a final version that is now utilized by practically all NFTs on Ethereum.
The project is the first of its kind in the Hedera NFT community - exploring new concepts of monetizing existing content to add an additional revenue stream for creators.
“Clout.art introduces an innovative platform where minting NFTs from your original content is as simple as logging into your email account,” said Alex Russman of the HBAR Foundation. “They are pioneers in the creator economy, actively exploring at the intersection of creators and web3 technologies.”
Alongside migrating their tooling across to Hedera, Clout.art will launch a special fund for artists and creators to join the platform and start their own NFT journey. More details on the fund and the special NFT collection will be released in the coming weeks, while users are already able to sign up and easily mint their very own first NFT at https://clout.art.
