Major League Paintball’s NFT Marketplace Launches On Hedera

The MLPB ‘Armory’ brings digital collectibles of leagues, players, and teams on-chain

New York, August 2 – 2023 – Major League Paintball (MLPB) and Momental, an innovation partner for digital and Web3 experiences, today announced the launch of MLPB Armory, a custom NFT marketplace for officially licensed MLPB collectibles built on the Hedera network.

Professional paintball is a worldwide phenomenon with a rapidly growing fanbase in the millions and MLPB Armory provides them all with new ways to show their support as leagues around the world including NXL, WNXL NXL, EU, and LATAM, and ICPL unite the global MLPB moniker. 

In order to unite everyone and bring fans closer to the action, MLPB Armory features digital collectibles of over 300 men’s and women’s players from professional paintball leagues and teams across five continents. 

MLPB’s Web3 agency partner, Momental, chose to custom-build the shop on the Hedera network to ensure a world class digital experience that gives players more opportunities to earn income by giving fans everywhere seamless access to unique collectibles of their favorite teams and players at live events and online.   

For Players

Starting with baseball cards in the 1860’s, individual player cards have been a foundational piece to every athlete’s legacy and every superfan’s collection. MLPB Armory is carrying on the next generation of this tradition by offering digital, NFT player cards that are registered on a blockchain. Utilizing this technology to create the cards allows their authenticity and trading history to be verified, plus it ensures that players and creators are compensated directly. ‍

For Fans

It’s never been easier to follow your favorite players, teams, and connect with other fans to share experiences or trade collectibles to build a hall of fame collection – MLPB Armory supports credit card purchases via stripe and Hedera WalletConnect, which utilizes carbon-neutral Web3 technology (Hedera Hashgraph) to deliver a fast, secure, and eco-friendly way to pay.

To celebrate the launch, MLPB Armory and Momental are gifting 10 free player packs to new accounts on MLPB Armory. The winners will be drawn randomly at the end of August and airdropped directly into their accounts.

In addition to purchasing and trading player cards, every fan at live MLPB events receives a free commemorative NFT that features a design of the field layout from the tournaments they attend with just one click using social media. 

The marketplace enables teams and individual players to easily mint their own creations on demand, to foster greater incentives for everyone.
